Fasting in the Month of Rajab

Basically fasting throughout the month of the year except disyari'atkan ramadhan or at times prohibited to fast, such as: two holidays, the days tasyriq, Friday. While fasting in the month of Ramadan is compulsory.

A person is allowed to fast on Mondays and Thursdays, three days a month, or the fasting of David in any month of the year including the month of Rajab. This case was based on the arguments of generality that explains about sunnah fasts, including:

1. It was narrated from Abu Hurairoh that the Prophet often fasted on Monday and Thursday. "(Narrated by Ahmad with a saheeh isnaad)
2. From Abu Dhar al Ghifari said that the Messenger of Allah has ordered us to fast for three days in each month, that is what is called the white day; the date of the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth. "Prophet of Allah said," That's all as fast during the of time. "(Narrated by An Nasai and dishahihkan by Ibn Hibbaan)

3. Narrated Abdullah bin Amar that the Prophet had said, "Fasting is the most favored of God is fasting and prayers of David the most favored of God is the prayer of David. He sleeps through the night, wake up a third, then sleep seperenamnya and he fasted one day and then break one day. "(Narrated by Ahmad)

This is as stated by Imam Nawawi that there is no prohibition on fasting in the month of Rajab and nor is there because the moon rajabnya penganjurannya itself but basically disunnahkan fast. In sunnan Abu Daud that the Prophet recommended fasting in the months illegitimate and Rajab is one of them. (Saheeh Muslim bi Nawawi Syarhin juz VIII p. 56)

And not ddiapat saheeh history that describes fasting Rajab because there is virtue in that month. Among the hadiths that are:

1. It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed al Khudriy that the Messenger of Allah said, "Rajab is the month of Allah, Sha` ban is bulanku and ramadhan is the month of my Ummah. Any person who fasted Rajab with faith and full of hope then it is obligatory for him keredhoan great God, will be placed in the highest paradise. Any person who fasted two days of the month of Rajab then his reward is doubled and each equal to the weight measuring mountains in the world and they that fast three days of the month of Rajab, Allah will make it a fast wide trench between her one-year journey to hell ... "Ibn al-Jawzi said that this hadith maudhu '(false).

2. Narrated Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever fasted three days of the month of Rajab, then God set for him a month of fasting. Whoever fasted seven days of the month of Rajab, Allah Close to him seven gates of Hell. Whoever fasted eight days of the month of Rajab, Allah opened for him eight gates of Paradise and those who fasted half a month of Rajab, Allah set him keredhoan Him and those who set him keredhoan His then He will not mengadzabnya. And anyone who is fasting during the month of Rajab, Allah will menghisabnya with an easy reckoning. "Ibn al-Jawzi said that this hadith is not true because there are among the perawinya Aban. Shucba say that adultery is more I like than I narrated the hadith of Aban.Ahmad, Nasai and Dauquthni said that this hadith is not taken because in it there is Amar bin al-Azhar. Ahmad said that this hadith maudhu'u (false). (Al Maudhu'at juz II, p. 205-206)

About this issue, Al Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in his book "Tabyiinul 'AJB" p. 23 that there is no history about the primacy of the month of Rajab, not fasting in the month, not fast just a little of that month and also do not set aside the month qiyamullail it.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said in the book "al Muniful Manar" p. 151 that all the hadiths that mention the month of Rajab, to pray about some of the nights in the month that he is a liar and a liar. "(Silsilatul Ahaditsil Wahiyah juz II p. 222)

Fasting in Ramadhan Month

Jumhur jurists, namely the scholars Hanafi, Maliki and Shafi believes will dianjurkannya fasting month of Ramadhan by history of Aisha who said, "I do not see the Messenger of Allah fasting for more than a month of Sha'ban." Aisha also said, " The most preferred months for the Messenger of Allah in it is the Ramadhan fasting month of Ramadan even .. "

Syarbini al-Khatib said that there was narrated in Saheeh Muslim that the Messenger of Allah fasting in the month of Sha'ban all except very few (of those days). "

The scholars said that the wording in the second hadith is the first explanation of the hadith, that is the whole is most of it.

From Aisha said that I did not see the Messenger of Allah perfected unless a full month of fasting month of ramadan. "The scholars say that he saw did not improve so fast the whole month is not considered that it was the obligation.

While Hambali scholars argue that it is not advisable to fast in the month of Sha'ban, it is the opinion of most of them but our owners' Al Ershad "recommend it. (Al Mausu'ah al Fiqhiyah juz II, p. 9993)
